I cut a whole in my airbox lid and now it stalls when the throttle is placed all the way in. I placed the clip on the stock carb needle on the 4th step and not much of an improvement. Now I have bought new jets(not the needle) size 170(compared to the stock 118's) but it isn't responding normally. Is it the lid or has something else happened to it? Please respond beacause I want it back up to its powerful self so I don't have to use my longtravel YFZ.

If you haven't upgraded your exhaust to handle additional flo you will never realize improvements on the intake side. & upset the balance between int & exh. Engine is an air pump.If you can flo 100cfm in (say 70cfm stock) you must upgrade exh. side to flo 100cfm as well. (over stock 70cfm) or you will have a 30cfm air/fuel mix traffic jam in your cyl. put stock jets back in.repair/replace airbox lid, put clip back to stock position. Now shop for an aftmkt pipe designed to meet your needs, and tune eng accordingly, to match pipe's flo capabilities. Best find more experienced tuner/mech.
