One way to promote accountability is for us to create an independent ethics watchdog organization, which has control over their ethics and their behavior, and can boot them out if they don't tow the line. Such an organization is already in the process of being put together. Congress has proven many times over that it can't or won't police itself to the benefit of the public good. Now it's time for the public to do it for them. I predict we will see a serious decline in the relationship between big business lobbyists and our representatives within the next decade.

Accountability can come only when citizens are aware of their rights, the power they have which they can exercise at their will.An important role played by media in this regard has been to make citizens aware of their right to no vote. This when practised to its best will help in rejecting those who the public feel are not capable for getting elected. Also by removing roadblocks in the path of RTI Act will prove to be a great help in making Govt. more accountable.

What you do is get the public educated. Get the right type of person in office. Turn on "Hate Talk" radio. Turn off the tv "News". Get the young people to vote. Get the young people to know who the Senitors Are & What they Are doing. Teach religion in the schools.

Have a good day. :)
