divisions first:
afc north: ravens...the loss of adalius thomas will hurt this defense, but they will be fine in his absence, and continue to have one of the best defensive teams in football...as for the offense, i think they will be able to score more points with brian billick calling plays for an entire season, plus i believe that the bengals and steelers are a bit overhyped because of their successes from the year before this past one

afc south: colts...obviously they are the defending champions, but make no mistake they are no lock for this division, with the titans and jaguars lurking...however, i give them the edge because they have experience and success in playoff races during the stretch run of the season, while the titans and jaguars for the most part lack players who have had that experience

afc east: patriots...again they are no lock with the jets and my personal sleeper in the afc, the bills, in their conference...however i think brady will just find a way to get it done, as he always does, although it remains to be seen if the pats go out and add a dangerous receiving threat or if maroney can handle being the full-time #1 back, since corey dillon has asked out of new england

afc west: chargers...i have close to no faith in norv turner to make this team a championship contender, but i think they should be able to win the division on talent alone...rivers and LT will make a lethal combination, and they will score a ton of points as well as have one of the best defenses in the game with two great minds on that side of the ball coaching them in ted cottrell and ron rivera...i think their division is overrated also, i'm not sold on cutler as denver's QB or trent green as KC's

nfc east: eagles...they play in a tough division, but this team will be a force in the nfc, if marty mornhinweg continues to call plays...they are a much more balanced team with him at the controls, and brian westbrook becomes much more involved, which is key to their ability to open up the passing lanes for donovan mcnabb...their veteran defense may wear down, but they still can get to the quarterback with jim johnson's blitz schemes and force turnovers and create big plays

nfc north: bears...their division is pretty incompetent, so they should take care of it almost by default unless the packers really get things going...rex grossman will continue to improve, and they have talented guys for him to throw to in berrian, muhammad, and desmond clark, but with thomas jones unhappy and asking for a trade, cedric benson may need to become the feature back of the offense...obviously, their defense was exceptional overall, but i have concerns because they stumbled at the end of the year; however they force a ton of turnovers and should recover from the loss of ron rivera

nfc south: saints...they are my super bowl favorites, because they return all the key pieces to a great offense and are young and continually improving on the defensive side of the ball...sean payton is one of the best coaches and the single best playcaller in football today, and with brees and all his targets coming back, they will be one of the highest scoring teams in history

nfc west: 49ers...i think seattle is slipping, and this is the chance for the niners to bust through and return to the playoffs...the loss of norv turner is tough, but i think alex smith will continue to blossom, and frank gore is one of the best RBs in football...mike nolan continues to work on the defense, and i think they will have a breakthrough year on that side, improving immensely as they familiarize themselves with the scheme

and your league mvp will be drew brees, and he will be fairly close to the 49 TD passes of peyton manning a couple years back because of the weapons he has surrounding him and his ability to make sound decisions, as well as throw an effective deep ball

Next season...that's a hard question. Here's what I think the entire standings will be next season.

AFC East:

1. New England
2. New York Jets
3. Buffalo
4. Miami

Reasoning: Nothing much will change here. Patriots still the best, Dolphins still have QB problems. Bills and Jets the same.

AFC North:

1. Baltimore
2. Pittsburgh
3. Cincinnati
4. Cleveland

Reasoning: Big Ben starts his comeback, but Ravens maintain overall good play. Cincinnati's problems with the law continue, Browns still suck.

AFC South:

1. Houston
2. Indianapolis
3. Tennessee
4. Jacksonville

Reasoning: With Jake Plummer in Houston with Kubiak again, he'll have another breakout year and lead the Texans to the playoffs. Colts still good, but without Freeney, defense is even worse. VY proves a bust and Jacksonville starts a rookie QB.

AFC West:

1. San Diego
2. Kansas City
3. Denver
4. Oakland

Reasoning: No power shifts here. KC and Denver may switch, but that would be it.

NFC East:

1. Philadelphia
2. New York Giants
3. Dallas
4. Washington

Reasoning: The Eagles are still good, while Eli starts to improve his skills. The 'boys start to decline without Parcells and Romo proving he isn't a starter. Jason Campbell also a bust.

NFC North:

1. Green Bay
2. Detroit
3. Chicago
4. Minnesota

Reasoning: The Packers get Favre his last division title, the Lions start to find a rythym in what is becoming a weak division. The Bears, after the Super Bowl loss, decline incredibly and Brad Johnson retires mid-Pre-season.

NFC South:

1. Carolina
2. New Orleans
3. Tampa Bay
4. Atlanta

Reasoning: The Panthers had an off-season, but Delhomme is back in business. The Saints still really good, but a couple injuries hold them back while the Bucs and Falcons stay bad.

NFC West:

1. St. Louis
2. Seattle
3. San Francisco
4. Arizona

Reasoning: Steven Jackson, who earns MVP honors, has a breakout year. The Seahawks lose the division crown while the Niners fight for a playoff spot. Leinart has a rough season.

MVP: Steven Jackson, stated above.

NFC West
It will be very close but 49ers will win it. They will stengthen their D in the offseason and their great offense led by Frank Gore will only get better.
NFC North
Bears will dominate the division again. Packers don't have enough playmakers to take the division. Bears still have their defense and their O just has to play mediocre and not make mistakes.
NFC East
Another very close division. But Giants will be hurt by the loss of TIki Barber and Skins will have to give Jason Cambell time to develop so Eagles will win the division with a healthy Mcnabb and a strong defense. Cowboys close second.
NFC South
Saints come back and dominate the division once again. Just to much ability on Offense and d isnt bad either. Falcons will make the wild card.
AFC West
Chargers lost key coaches but they still have Tomlinson and that great D. That will be enough to take out a division full of young Qbs.
AFC North
Ravens D will most likely have all their players back and they will be able to keep back the Steelers and Bengals to win the division
AFC East
My upset of the year. Patriots are even older this year and now missing Corey Dillon. Jets win just enough games to overtake them. But don't count out tom in the playoffs.
AFC South
Colts keep their place on top of the Pyramid nobody else comes close. Jacksonville not strong enough on offense. Tennessee not strong enough on D and could lose Pacman.
Rookie of the year-Jamarcus Russell
Comeback player of the year-Big Ben Rothlisberger
MVP-Frank Gore

Nothing is certain until the draft and when preseason ends. For now, I see in the AFC: 1. Patriots (14-2) 2. Colts (13-3) 3. Steelers (11-5) 4. Broncos (9-7) Chargers won't be good enough without Rivers, I see them going 8-8. 5. Jaguars (12-4) 6. Browns (11-5) NFC: 1. Green Bay (13-3) 2. Cowboys (13-3) 3. Saints get the rebound. (10-6) 4. Cardinals get over the Seahawks. Barely. (8-8) 5. Giants (12-4) Great team, but won't beat the Boys in the regular season. 6. Bucs return as a wild card. (9-7) WILD CARD WEEKEND: Jags over Broncos Browns over Steelers Saints over Bucs Cardinals shock the world with an upset over the Giants 2nd Round: Patriots over Jags Browns over Colts in a huge upset Green Bay over Cardinals Cowboys over Saints CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK: Browns pull CRAZY upset over Patriots Green Bay over Cowboys SUPER BOWL PICK: Green Bay 28 Browns 24
