One way that fixing the AC will help your dust problem is that you won't have the window open as much (which does help).

Another way is that if the filter is properly changed (or cleaned) it helps trap dust and to keep the AC from blowing the dust around even more. Also, remember to clean the "fins" of the AC to keep dust out and to help your AC to run at it's best. Dust impedes air flow into the unit and makes the unit work harder thus using more power with less cooling.

I'd reccomend two other things...

1. Getting an air purifier (like an Ionic Breeze) or something like that to clean the dust out of the air. Something with a hepa filter REALLY helps.

2. Using a damp rag or Swiffer cloth to dust your stuff with so that you don't flip the dust around in the air when you clean your room. Why use a feather duster which only kicks the dust up in the air for you to breath and to land on the other stuff you just dusted?!

wash out the filter on the ac unit. Its a "forced air " unit and will move the dust around. the filter should be cleaned at least once a month and in India its dusty so more often is advised.

different than hose / tights over the nozzle of a vacuum cleanser as has already been stated, if it incredibly is fairly dusty you may get compressed air in a can and use a clean artists paintbrush to airborne dirt and dust - be careful, the air is decrease than severe pressures, so do no longer factor it at anyones face - you may get the compressed air from Maplins or another technical furnish shop. in case you haven't any longer used it earlier, ask the sales individual to illustrate the type you could desire to apply it wisely. it is going to fairly displace the airborne dirt and dust after for you to use the vacuum cleanser. Pls don't be tempted to apply the different style of aerosol - I had a decision out to 3 fool who used lighter fluid questioning it would desire to do a similar activity as air (coz it replaced right into a gasoline, i think) - I charged them for the call out yet under no circumstances touched the fix (very risky and severe priced). good success

Buy a can/bottle of furniture polish, get a clean rag, and dust it!
