... when their dependency on others means that their will is only satisfied via-proxy. Are we to exploit and manipulate the weak-willed to our hearts content? How are we to practice personal justice with such limited physical capabilities?

I ask this because I've never walked in my life.

Sometimes I feel like a strong mind trapped in a weak body.

Whelp, let's try:

Abraham Lincoln: clinical depression and Marfan Syndrome.

Charles Steinmetz: Hunchbacked dwarf. Don't turn on a light without him.

Nickola Tesla: Classic OCB, don't turn on ANYTHING without him, even your computer.

Churchill: Clinical Depression.

FDR: Paralyzed by polio. Stephen J. Hawking....just more severe.

Homer, blind.

Last, but not least, Nietzsche: overloaded IQ, social misfit, had sex about once in his life and contracted syphilis, of which he slowly died.

The list is huge. I don't think it's good to pity anybody, but sometimes I feel very sad for people like Brittney and Anna.

The elders teach us that the human will, if it cannot deal with certain limitations, can overcome them. And it starts with the one thing we can control: our attitude.

There are people you can help. My best to you.

You are your mind, your spirit, the being inside, not the body. If your physical body is handicapped and you need assistance in some areas, you still have & can still exercise your will. We all have weaknesses in certain areas & rely on others to help us with these but it doesn't undermine us as people, as beings. When the body drops away it is the being inside that matters. Your mind is the most powerful tool you have. No don't use it to exploit others but don't feel that others are exploiting you either. Use the gifts that you have. Focus on the positive rather than the negative. You are not trapped unless you view yourself in this way. You choose how you feel and how you react to the world. We all have physical limits to some degree. The mind, the imagination is limitless. Make the most of your life. That's all any of us can do. We all have "weaknesses" of some sort. We must focus on our strengths.

Take care.

You are only physically handicapped and not in spirit or in the heart. And that is the key to living a fulfilling life. As being able bodied is never a guarantee for a joyous life, nor is being physically handicapped a guarantee for challenging or a painful life.
It is as we how we to be in the moment, happy or sad, joyous or ecstatic, and that is what makes our life. That is the power of our Freewill, the will to be, the way we want to be.

And as I can see, your spirit very much alive and kicking, something not many ‘able bodied’ can match.

You are able spirited, and know that, it 'is' a blessing.

My brother is mentally and physcially handicap, never walked a day in his life and never will. He is very smart, but he wont ever be able to live on his own. When you are around him you just feel happier and better. He is the sweetest, when he wants to be, person ever. However, he is a major pain in the ***, but I can say that, he is my little brother. He may be helpless when it comes to some things, but when he wants something he gets it. Just because a person is handicap doesn't mean they don't have power over their lives.

It has been said that you are given no challange that you cannot overcome, it has also been said that before we came into bieng that we CHOSE the trails we would face. Also everyone depends on someone at some point in their lives and the ones struggling the most are the ones with no one to hold on to. (so to speak) Lastly personal justice rarely ever comes as swiftly as we would like, (Ask O.J.'s in-laws) but remember that every one dies eventually even those who wrong you but it is important to remember to forgive them before death comes looking for you.

damn i was depressed until i hit your question. now i am suicidal. i just want to die. my life means nothing. i know that. i don't deserve to live here in god's creation, his wonderful beautiful creation. dangerous awesome, sweet, beautiful, peaceful scary everything going on and on. who dares criticize the work of god? who dares? what do you expect after that? not the wisest move to make, eh? i do appreciate god's work. but i don't deserve anything better. so i want to die. i doubt my love and appreciation. who am i to complain about anything? i want to die. i have sinned and sinned.
