My friend is really scaring me. She is depressed and not happy. She is usually hyper, funny, and nice. Now she is grumpy never smiles and so on. She sees a counsler but it doesnt seem to be working. I try to help but i dont want to make it worse and people say stay out of it but how can i not worry?? She is one of my best friends. I don't think she has had thoughts of killing herself (thank god!) but what do i do???? PLEASE HELP!!!

hey! ^^

hmm.. I think I have been where ur friend is... I used to be a "happy-go-lucky" person, n last yr, I fell outta love *hard* so I became depressed and juz a really sad person, despite what all my friends tried, it juz doesn't cheer me up, sometimes, someone who cares too much juz annoyed me.. =p

staying out of it isn't really the right way to go... if someone is depressed, it takes time to heal... (time heals everything... *or so they say*) u are definitely right to worry abt her.. juz be there for her when she's sad, when she sits alone, sit beside her, be her leaning tower of strength... u dun have to say anything, (sometimes it is better to say nth), ur mere presence provides some kind of comfort...

sometimes, all someone needs is to know somebody cares abt them, all they need is time (no matter how long) & of course, someone who will be there for them and pull them through the hard times...

my friends were there for me, eventho I had a hard time, I managed to return to being the person I once was.. =D but ultimately, she will have to be the one to initiate & make the call to be the person she is.. juz be patient with her... give her hugs and juz be caring... she will pull thru... u have to put all ur trust & faith in her...

gud luck!! ^-*

I think truely all you can do is tell her no matter what you are there for her and then make sure you are. She might not be ready to talk about it now but build up some trust with her and she may come around.

If you are worried about your friend than bring her to a doctor where she can get the help that she needs. Once your friend gets the help that she needs she will thank you later for doing it for her.

first, ask her what is her problem..then you should advice her.. then cheer her up.. tell her jokes, go out together.. let her feel that she's not alone in this world.. that you are willing to help her out.. well good luck.. i'm hoping that she smiles again..=)
