So when you're pregnant you're not on you're period atol.

Generally speaking when you are pregnant, you will not have a period at all. There have been some cases where a woman has had a period throughout her pregnancy though... but that isn't common.

On a side note... if you are thinking on getting pregnant so you don't have your period..keep in mind that pregnancy symptoms are often worse than just having a period. I haven't technically had my period since becoming pregnant, but it sure has felt like 6 months of the worst PMS of my life.

You really need to do some research on what a period is and how you get pregnant.

Basically the whole month the lining of the uterus is building up to prepare for potentially being pregnant - if the egg is not fertilized then the lining of the uterus is shed - out of the vagina in the form of blood - aka - a period. This cycle reoccurs approximatrely every 28 days (but every woman's cycle is different).

So while a woman may get some spotting during pregnancy and she may have some initial bleeding at the beginning - mainly old blood - she should not have a normal period due to the egg being fertilized. If there is blood after a confirmed pregnancy, I would suggest seening a doc to rule out any probs.

Nope. The entire reason you have a period is because the lining of your uterus sheds out if an egg is not implanted. The uterus builds up a thick bloodrich lining to nourish the egg that it is preparing for, but if that doesn't happen (the egg doesn't get fertilized) the hormones tell the uterus to shed it out and prepare for next month. So, obviously, when you are pregnant, the utuerus has done its job and there's no reason for it to shed out. Some people do have a slight bleeding the first month or so, but it is referred to as 'implantation bleeding'. Much more than a slight stain is not normal and is reason to see a doctor.

In most cases your period would stop for the entire pregnancy, but some women continue to have lighter periods for some or all of their pregnancy, and a few would notice NO change in their cycle (happened to a friend of mine...she found out she was pregnant when she went to the hospital complaining of "food poisoning" and they said no you're in labour) and by the way, your period does NOT stop while you are nursing. mine was regular the whole six months

You r period is your body ridding itself of an egg and the lining of the uterus. When you are pregnant your egg has been fertilized and the uterine wall holds the egg. So no period. Some women bleed at some points of their pregnancy but this is not a period.

Some women still get their periods while pregnant but that is rare.
You stop getting your period while you are pregnant. It returns in about 2 months after you give birth - longer if you are breastfeeding.
