It all is very individual, but with some people it might get up to 4-5 months to get it out of their system. Plus i would wait anyways until your body goes back to normal "before pills" time:) Take it easy and lots of luck in your great decision!:)

Well remember when your taking BC your fooling your body into thinking its pregnant. That's why you don't ovulate, while on the pill. So the eggs are storing up in your ovaries. Now since you have been taking your BC pills it may take a while for your body to start releasing an egg each month. The best time to get preg. is 14 days after the first day of your last menses. You may or may not ovulate right away. Make sure to check with your OBGYN doctor, and get a go ahead before you get preg. Good wishes to you and yours.

They say to stop 6 months before you want to start as it can take that long for your periods to get back to normal. However people do get pregnant while on pill so it could happen any time,

my mother stopped her pills and two weeks later got pregnant. Basically everyone and every pill is different. It may take a month or longer or less. I would advise talking to your doctor but i would probably just quit on the placebo so that everyone goes normally and then try.

Supposedly if you skip a day, this could throw off the entire birth control system. So they may stop working immediatley. Or they may stop working after a month.
You should check with your doctor about when your birth control pills will stop working because this could vary depending on the birth control pill. Definitley talk to your doctor.

Do some reasearch, go to your birth control's website or doctor. Most of the time doctors won't mind getting a call even the receptionist may be able to answer some questions. It could be one month or one year. It all depends on how your body reacts to it and how long your body takes to flush it out.

My original dr told me to wait two months before trying to conceive once I stopped the pill...but i had difficulties getting pregnant and now am doing IVF and the doctor actually has me on the pill days leading up to my procedure. So I'm not sure. I would recommend calling your dr and asking his/her recommendation.
