Today my gf told me she was a week late for her period. We had unprotected sex last wednesday, two days before her period was due. We only did it for maybe five minutes and I didnt orgasm in her, and I extremely rarely "precum" and only in very small amounts.
I read that girls most frequently ovulate between a week after her period and a week before. Does this mean she wasnt ovulating, as we did it two days before she was due? Or is this irrelevant because she didnt acctually have it? Are late periods common? Help!!

She should have been finished ovulating two days before her period. Ovulation typically occurs around 14 days after the woman's last period day. A girl can get pregnant around 4 days of the month during that ovulation time. I have missed a period before and I wasn't pregnant. It can happen. Periods are also late at times too. Talk to your girlfriend about starting birth control. She can go a planned parenthood office or gynecologist and get some. I really wish you the best.

Well if she has normal periods every 28 days.. then she would ovulate around days 12-16 and that is a wide spread there. If you had sex before her period a healthy sperm can live up to 5 to even 7 days. If you are sure it was 2 days before her period then she should not have been ovulating, but the thing is.. are her periods on time every time? There a numerous reasons for women to have late periods.. stress, medications, hormones changing, and Ofcourse pregnancy. If she does not start in another day or so.. I would get a test. But by what you are saying.. I do not think she is pregnant, unless you had sex before her period as well. Hope all is well.. and it only takes one sperm to get on the loose.. precum is just as fertile and you can not feel it coming out.. so always cover it up and she should really consider some alternative birth control as well to make extra sure. Good luck!

Relax
according to your info, you had sex 2 days before her period was due. It's not the day girls usually have ovulation. it's normally 14 days (2 weeks) after the first day for the last period. For example, her first day of the last period was Jan 15, then the ovulation date normally is Jan 29. However, for your safety, count 3 days earlier and 3 days later plus Jan 29 so that starting from Jan 26th-Feb1st is the date that you have to be careful. actually 5 days of those days but sperms in live inside for up to 2 days (48 hours) so that we must be careful for 7 days.
Your gf may be just having stress which is making her period delayed. If you are sure you haven't had sex 11-17 days after her period, talk to your gf not to over stress but if you and your gf wanted to make sure, then buy one of those home pregnancy tests and get tested. It's the 99% sure way to know whether she is pregnant or not. Precum can do pregnancy but you never know how rare you ejeculated precum. very small amounts still have sperms.so next time, be careful and always use protection for pregnancy as well as STDs. Good Luck.

OK first off, calm down and take a breath. No, I do not think that she is pregnant. You ovulate 14 days before your period for 2-5 days, this of course pertaining to women that are regular, if she is irregular then you should be keeping a close eye on things, If you did not orgasm then it should not be an issue, precum is a possibility but very slim chances. If she is a week late it could be from her hormones changing. If you guys have had sex before then yes it could be a possibility. The only way to tell for sure is if she takes a pregnancy test. You can go to the health department and they will give her a free pregnancy test. This is the only way to tell for sure.

if she was positive what day she was due for a period then she is probably not pregnant like less than 5% chance but if her periods are irregular as in not every 28 days then it would be hard to tell the only way to know is to take a pregnancy test 3 weeks after the day you had sex you can buy one for a dollar at the dollar tree store or even cheap at walmart the equate brand is a good brand to use so is the dollar store ones. My suggestion is to also use condoms from now on because even if you precum a little its enough to get her pregnant.

Some women have irregular periods so you will have to ask her about her "normal" cycle - some women change every month.

As for the probability - it's low - but still anything is possible. The average women would ovulate a week to 2 weeks after the start of her period and up to about a week to 2 weeks before her next one starts - but no 2 women are the same and not all cycles are the same. Also, younger women - teenagers and early 20's are prone to more irregular cycles then older women.

It may just be that she miscalculated her period start date. I would have her get a cheap test at the store and test.

And next time don't risk it and use a condom - you have absolutely no way of knowing if you have precum or not - unless you are inside staring at your penis during sex - entirely impossible - so don't risk it if you aren't emotionally and financially ready for a child - or a disease for that matter in this day and age.

I think you and your girlfriend need to not have sex until you both have a thing called common sense an with that you should get an education on sex.

For one YOU CAN NOT feel if you precum and YES in just 5 minutes she can get pregnant and NO she does not have to have orgasm to get pregnant.

It sounds to me that the both of you are far to immature and irresponsible to be having sex I mean you had unprotected sex, that is one of the most dumbest things you can do, not only could she be pregnant but you could have an STD.

Both of you need to keep your pants on until you grow up and get some sense

you shouldn't worry until she is two weeks later. alot of women can be late and i know I have been. Also if she has a regular 28 day cycle its unlikely she is pregnant because a woman ovulates 14 days before her first day of her period. but thats only if her cycle is 28 days. ask her to take a pregnancy test if she doesn't have her period in another week

missed periods are common, and girls usually ovulate between 14 -16 days after their last period, my guess is she's probably not pregnant but, wait about another week and if her period hasn't came yet buy a home pregnancy test and find out for sure before getting scared or nervous.

a teen girl is most alway fertile. and she is most likely to get pregnant from a week before her period through to a week after. and i've never heard of a guy "rearly" producing precum. i think you just don't realize it. and even a small amont of precum is full of sperm, so it is very possible she is pregnant. have her take a test in about 2 weeks. and remember to always wear a condom. late periods are commen in teen girls though. be safe next time. better yet if your not ready to be a dad dont have sex.
