Most doctors suggest 6-8 weeks as a blanket statement. However, I would ask your doctor. If the doctor says it's not a good idea, then I wouldn't disagree with the doctor.

You have to get an OK from your doctor first. Generally the rule is 6 weeks. But DO NOT have sex before your stitches have healed (if you had a tear) I would make sure that you check with your doctor. I have also read that "If it feels good, go with it" But don't push yourself and don't tear yourself back open.
Stitches take anywhere from 2 up to 4 weeks to heal all the way, that is very tender tissue. Every woman is different. I wish you luck in this!

The doctor usually recommend that you wait about 6 weeks after to make sure you're all healed up. If you're not healed and you have sex, you could tear inside or get an infection...beside which, it'd hurt really bad. If you have a c-section, I think they just want you to wait til the incision is healed. Also about 6 weeks.

You should wait about six weeks after a vaginal delivery to start having sex. That is an average amount of time, however, and it should be based on how YOU feel and how well your body has recovered.

Depends on if you had any complications iwth birth and whether it was vaginal or c section. I know after I had my daughter - vaginally - the doc told me to wait 6 weeks for everything to heal. the doc will go over that in the last few weeks of pregnancy as well as in the hospital before you are released - if not - ask!

They don't usually recommend you until about 4-6 weeks after delivering simply because you body needs some time to rest and your probably going to be sore for a while.

If you delivered your baby vaginally, without incident and you are healing fine, you should be able to resume sexual intercourse (penetration)within 6 weeks. Trying sooner can cause damage to parts that are still healing, and be very painful or cause infection.
Usually your doctor will clear you to resume sexual activity after your 6 weeks post partum checkup.
Cheers

They recommend 6 weeks. We did it at one month exactly. But I had a c-section so I felt pretty good about it.
