Hello deepinluvwithim,

Launch your System Preferences. Under the Hardware heading is Energy Saver. Inside Energy Saver, there's a Sleep and Options tabs that you can look through.

I've got a TiBook, so I don't have the Intel processor that you have, but here's what my setting are. I have my Mac plugged in, Settings for Power Adapter, and Optimization set for high performance. Under the Sleep tab, I have the sliders all turned to "Never", so that the computer and display doesn't go to sleep until I tell it to. I also have the Put the hard disk to sleep unchecked, so it stays spinning.

Under the Options tab, I've got the Wake and Other Options all checked. Again Processor Performance set to the highest.

Again, I don't know if this will work for you, but you can give it a try and see if things improve for you. Best of luck to you.

Rather than just closing the lid to put your Mac to sleep, click on the Apple menu and choose Sleep... from there. Make sure the HDD completely stops spinning before leaving your Mac. If it's still spinning then you'll know it hasn't gone to sleep.
