Miss World/Universe talk about world peace. They act like doves on earth. They are looked upon as angles and goddesses on Earth. After getting the title, they visit hungry children in poor african nations.

What do we need in them? Plastic surgeried noses, bleached skins, dyed hairs and treadmill sculptured bodies? or somebody with a sense of integrity, understand world dynamics and can become a role model who not only visit African hungry children but think of social, economic and cultural issues and has a knowledge to address them efficiently, effectively and amicably?

The organisations involved are making money. Fine. What is the world and society atlarge is benefiting out of this?

You make an interesting point and I somewhat agree with you. I'm so tired of the society's expectations of a woman that indicate "if you're this small you have to be this tall" bull crap. Most (make note of the MOST) of the girls that look like that don't have even half of a brain to answer questions of importance and their answers sound so rehersed to the ones that they are asked on Miss World/Universe. Society has put the pressure on women that they have to look like a Barbie Doll in order to be successful or worth a damn. "Those" girl types that read this will pass this off to jealousy but they needn't flatter themselves so much since there is not much there to admire. Then men wonder and complain why we take so much time in the bathroom getting ready when they created this "MONSTER" of what we are. Them and the media. They're the reason a woman can't look at themselves in the mirror without it becoming a microscope to every single flaw she has. It starts all the way back in the latter grades of elementary school when girls are teased by the under matured male classmate for everything. A tiny pimple, a girl developing breasts early, finding pads in her purse, etc,... Just turn on the TV at any given time. There you will find short men, tall men, fat men, old men, etc... but you have one type of woman on TV unless her role specifically calls for a fat or old woman. (in other words a size 6 or more and older than 30 to them) They display and label what normal people look like as being unattractive. It's time for a change and I'm waiting for women to stand up to society and say enough is enough but as long as we have those air heads out there that buy into all that crap we will always be degraded and labeled as ugly.

fundamentally, the miss world/universe is a beauty contest
and will remain to be one.
thus i believe the bikini parade perhaps is vital if not necessary.

whereas the job scope of a miss universe/world pageant winner is to be a charity ambassador. more often than not, such iconic roles are filled by beautiful people. and it will stay that way.

i guess wat's important here is not how flawed the way such things work. rather how we can help the less fortunate in society despite not being pageant winners.

If omit u . s . a . is meant to symbolize able, bright and knowledgeable women human beings, then why do each and all of the contestants appear like vogue fashions? the respond is via the fact it rather is a splendor pagent, organic and easy, and all this communicate approximately bright and able women human beings is only bs thrown in to make the pagent seem extra feminist and present day. via undeniable fact that the pagent rankings have been falling each year and that throughout 2008 it rather is going to be broadcast on TLC, of all networks, that is clean it rather is now no longer a correct stress in American society. It hangs on basically with the aid of nostalgia.
