i was wondering how i can restore my computer to an earler date..i hope you know what i mean..

help?..

Start | programs | accessories | system tools | system tools | restore computer to earlier date | next | choose the date you'd like to restore to

The above is one way. But this is the one you need to learn.

Instead of ACCESSORIES, click PC HELP & TOOLS. This section is important as it also has RESTORE and RECOVERY. Clicking RESTORE is self explanatory.

Also this is where you can make your Recovery disks if you HAVE NOT done so. You only get one shot. If you can do it on a DVD as like mine it is only one DVD or 8 CD disks. Either way will work. You will need this JUST IN CASE the computer goes on the blink and you have your faithful back up ready.

When I serve a slice of cake I make sure you get seconds. lol

Click on start-accessories-system tools-restore. This is for WindowsXP, but this should be standard for most computers. When you go to a restore point, make sure it's when your computer was working good, otherwise you will not be able to restore back to a good working time.

If you are having XP, then you can go for Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore.
