why would you call it a failed war? have you been brainwashed from the media. would you chose to get your information from a more reliable source? write to a marine and get the real story and leave politics out of it. it hasnt been a total waist and leaving now means all the lives that have been lost were lost in vain. thats not only beyond cold, but means the task is left wanting. we want it finished of course and we want the war to end so our soldiers can come home but slamming the president isnt going to accomplish this. what you need to think about since you appear to be favoring the democrats is......they dont like war....how safe and secure do you think your future will be with someone in office that wont defend your rights to live free? why dont you think about that?

Which wars has Bush failed in? What would success have looked like? Why did we fight these wars to begin with?

Is there oil flowing from the Gulf? Are Iraq's neighbors worried about attacks from Iraq? Have there been any terrorist attacks on US soil since Bush began those wars?

Exactly what is YOUR definition of success and failure regarding Iraq or Afghanistan?

I believe we have accomplished all of our primary goals in both wars: Oil flows from the Gulf unimpeded, and terror attacks are non-existent here. Now YOU define success, OK?

NOTE TO HAMMY: Even if we left Iraq now those lives would NOT have been "in vain". Iraq won't be producing nuclear weapons for a generation or more. In effect, we DID put them back to the "stone-age", as some rednecks like to say. Iraq will never again in my lifetime have a million-man army capable of invading anyone, or threatening the free flow of oil from the Gulf, as it did in GW1.

The country is a mess now (Iraq), but we didn't attack to make it better. That was a secondary goal, or a responsibility we thought we had, but making Iraq a better Iraq wasn't why we went. We have almost totally succeeded in so far as the reasons for why we went. Saddam is gone, no nukes, no ability to threaten neighbors, or impede oil flow. That looks like nearly 100% success.

Right, since she voted to go to Iraq along with about 28 other democratic senate votes. Now she is backpeddling that if she had known there weren't any weapons she wouldn't have supported the invasion. Bush acted on the same information that was given to him by the CIA, but he is taking the beating for making the decision. At least he has shouldered his responsibility about admitting he was wrong. She is liar, and I do not trust her.

I agree with HAMMY, we should rely on the reports from the troops and their COs not the media for how the war effort is really going.

I have to say I am disappointed in Hillary, I was really cheering for her. But she made a mistake and refuses to admit/apologize for it. Kinda reminds me of Bush. I don't know anymore. I guess I will continue to listen and think on it some more. If Gore ran thats who I'd vote for without a doubt!

Have you ever considered that if this war fails, the next president will be trying to clean up a victorious and more resolute alQaeda?

No, I don't suppose you have. Most democrats can't see past 2008.

this war is not failed - but people think it is failed AND MAKE IT FAILED! If people think it is victorious - then it would be victorious! Remember since VN War - we lost every war since people think US will lose all war! Even our enemies are laughing at us since their harassment tactic is working so well that Americans are trying to lose their own war!

Hillary?! It was her husband's fault that Bush had to take this action in the first place. I guess it would be poetic justice to make Hillary fix it--like THAT'S possible!
