The square root of 400 is 20. So if you have a square it is 20 by 20 sf. If this is not the case then measure one side and divide that into 400. This should give you the length of the other side.

It could be a number of dimensions. If you want it to be a square area it would be 20' x 20' but if not it could be 40' x 10', 50' x 8', 80' x 5' etc. Take 400 and divide it by any number for the first dimension, and the answer will give you the second dimension.

Well, there are actually an infinite number of measurements that could result in an area of 400 square feet.
You could have an area 0.01 feet wide by 40,000 feet long, or an an area 0.1 foot wide by 4000 feet long, or an area 20 feet wide by 20 feet long, or 10 feet wide by 40 feet wide, etc., etc.
Or you could have a triangular area 40 feet high with a base of 20 feet. It just goes on and on and on.
