When i look under my computer and view my details it shows i have about 984 mhz processor. i looked up my processor on the internet to see how powerful my processor is supposed to be, its supposed to be a 2.0 Ghz.
the reason i ask is cause im trying out a new game and it requires 1.8 Ghz. the game runs slow. is there any way i can maximize my computers processor?

That's Cool n Quiet. It lowers the clock speed when the system is idle to save on power. When the system needs the max CPU power, it will automatically raise the clock speed. If you want to turn the feature off (and there is no reason to), click on 'power' in the screensaver tab of your desktop properties and change the profile to 'always on'.

That "1.8GHz" that your game requires actually refers to a 1.8GHz Pentium 4 processor, which any A64 is much faster than. MHz can't be compared directly across processor families: a 1.8GHz Core 2 Duo is faster than a 2.6GHz Pentium D.

If your game is running slow, it's most likely your video card. Do you have a discrete card or is it integrated? If it's integrated, you'll want to get a discrete graphics card.

an amd athlon 64 cud be a variety of different clock speeds, altho i dont think 984 is one of them

and what do u mean "under your computer"? do u literaly mean a sticker on bottom? i dont imagine there being a sticker on the Bottom, nor cud i imagine it being accurate to the mhz, so it doesnt seem like ud mean that lol

i wud use something else too just to check, like run > dxdiag, and my computer (right cloick properties)
