i'm a beginner and i want to have a good quality violin, not easily broken and still suitable if i become an intermediate. do you know which type & brand of violin which is suitable for me? hm, and not really expensive (below or around $600). tq

I use a Cremona. I think they would be an intermediate violin as well. They are inexpensive and sound pretty good. Just get a violin SV150 or higher than 150.(That means they produce nicer sound and arent a cheeply made violin)

I really dont think there is an exact brand of violin you should choose from when shopping for one. You could get a violin made by a good company and some may sound great and others my sound not so great. When I have gotten my violins and my viola i chose by playing several different ones. My advice would be play the exact same songs on all different ones in your price range and listen to which one sounds the best, and is more comfortable for you.

You should try a Franz Hoffman but you will need to upgrade later on.
