I saw the show "Boogie Woogie" and loved it. I have never seen people dance like that before. It was not so much the dance techniques. It just looked like the people were dancing for themselves and really enjoying. Is this part of Indian culture (I don't know much about India)? Or is this kind of dancing uncommon in India?

Dancing is a big part of India/Indian Culture ... but the dancing is not so much the same as American dancing ... it is very different but still very nice and classical and fun!

There are many different types tradtional dancing:

Bharatanatyam
Kathak
Kathakali
Kuchipudi
Manipuri
Mohiniaattam
Odissi
Sattriya

Bharatanatyam - is a very classical indian dance you dont just dance you are telling a story and you have to show emotion form your eyes and it is a very pretty dance and it is very hard to learn and take time and pratcie to learn so the people that dance Bharatanatyam really enjoy it

You can find more of info on these dances from this website and you can see some on youtube

Please tell me what exactly you mean by Indian Culture first? If you think Dancing and Singling alone exhibits a nations' culture then you have thousands of them in India. But I have never heard "boogie woogie" dance. This may be one of the dance innovation of Cinema people, which is nothing to do with traditional dances of this country.

No,it is highly popular! It doesn't matter whether it is classical or traditional filmy dances. The show you saw-"Boogie Woogie"-has been around for more than a decade where any person can try their dancing skills and whoever wins goes home with five hundred thousand indian rupees(10000 dollars).the thing is that over here this type of freelance dancing is quite popular-I don't know if you have heard about Bollywood but anyway,it has really got into our blood;whether it's our college fest/official party, everybody dances like this-maybe not that good, but at least they try-nobody is going to laugh at you. So,try it out in your nearby disco if you are in India!

yeah! dancing is a very big part of the culture! its not so much how you dance its just how you let loose and have fun! so if you're ever at an indian party dont be shy to start dancing, and it doesnt matter if you can dance like them, nobodys gonna judge you, they'll just be happy that you're trying

The human race began in East Africa. between the 1st waves emigrate out of Africa belonged to the descendents of the Dravidian, Micronesian, Negritos and Aborigines. those have been certainly the 1st inhabitants of Asia. DNA analyze have been now shown that they share a elementary Mitochondrial DNA ancestor. they're not greater or much less of African ancestry then your elementary Indian, Cambodian or chinese language individual.
