That opens up the question, "Could they make a comeback?"--I'm a fan and a collector of silent films, and I know how powerful, dramatic, funny, and valid they are, and could be, as an artform. But I'm also aware that some 70-plus years have gone by since the last silent films were made in any quantity. Several generations of movie-goers have come and gone since then, and the art of watching a silent film has been largely lost. It might take a long time for people to get used to really watching a movie that depended on paying attention to what they saw, and to relying on subtitles for dialog and narration.
It's a fine thought, and I hope somehow it's able to happen--
To make it happen, you'd have to have a story that was so good, that watchers would get caught up before they realized they were watching with music accompaniment only, and could get so involved, they'd stay until the end.
Any film-makers interested in the challenge?

Hello, You should think about what you feel. Do you want just musicals or regular movies that are out today. those kind of movies can be pretty tripy. That would be kind of weird if they brought that back.

yes it would certainly stimulate the imagination and encourage thought and feeling ,instead of the low quality fare we are subjected to now with all is reliance on special effects and little sustance.
it would be a niche market though, but i think it would be quite popular.
