Some do it to legitimize their sex drive and others just have a childish notion of romance.

I got married at 20 my husband was 22. We got married right away bc he is from a different country and to help him get is residency ( a long long process) going we decided that it is better to wait on the process while I wait to finish college so that way when I graduate everything should be finished and we can start fresh. Also, if you know you are gonna get married...why not go ahead. I don't know why people stay engaged for 5 years! Also, since my income is soooo low I get financial aid at school, whereas with my parents I had to include their larger income. I noticed a lot of people are getting married so young. The ones I know seem to be really happy. but...it we are in a high-risk relationship according to ...well whoever finds those 'facts'

They feel that if they get married that the other will never go away. They just are to young to know exactly what they really should be looking for in a relationship.

Because you grow up with a very unrealistic view of marriage thinking it is always wonderful and that you will always be happy. You watch all those couples on TV and their always so much in love. However you get married and realize that it is not always the case. Marriage takes work. Not all fun and games.

they want the ownership papers, it validates them. funny thing is they hate living at home with mom and pops and their humdrum life and they think it will be all different when they do it only to find they become their parents. they get up, go to work, go home, eat dinner, go to bed, get up do it all over again and wish for the simpler times when they didn't have that ball and chain holding them down. not realizing that it was mom and pops that gave them all the freedom to make choices.

They feel like they are with the right person and they don't want to loose a good thing. Also if the couple don't believe in premarital sex, then don't want to wait too long to be together.

Maybe they are insecure or they think it is the natural progression of life. I got wild in my 20's and got it out, well most of it. Glad I wasn't maried then.

Because they think married life is bliss and paradise. It's only a few months after the wedding, reality sets in and they ask themselves what the hell they did!

because most of them are very religious and believe in the no sex before marriage thing. so, when they start wanting to have sex, they get married so they can still be their religious self and have sex.

I believe its insecurity or something, because if they knew what their future holds, they would not marry right away. Its good to be free.
