In the diagram below which would have the greatest magnitude of acceleration? Is it the el;ectron because it has the smallest mass?

+++++++++
**p
*****n
********e
---------------
Ignore the " * " please.
the +++ is a positivly charged plate and the ---- is a negatively charged plate.

the electron will have the maximum acceleration due to its less mass according to the relation
F = m x a
F = force
m = mass of the particle
a = acceleration

The electron would experience the same force as the proton. Since the mass of the proton is orders of magnitude larger the electron will accelerate at a much higher rate than the proton.

Hi. Forget your diagram. The proton would accelerate towards the negative plate but the electron would travel towards the positive plate at about 1,800 times as fast.

no longer something. nicely, relatively, it probably all comes aside. Nucleons (protons and neutrons) bind interior the path of the good interaction. Electrons do no longer do this. So attempting to convey mutually an atom with electrons interior the nucleus won't paintings.
