I am not sure but I don't think you're allowed to grow hemp in this country so if you a rope manufacturer you have to import it from Canada. Other examples that come to mind: Champagne from France; buffalo mozzarella from Italy; cheap labor from Central America.

TVs. I do not think there is an American made one.
beyond that, dirndls, lederhosen and bier steins (guess my import business)
