The test puts you in one of four categories:
1. Authoritarian Left
2. Authoritarian Right
3. Libertarian Left
4. Libertarian Right

You don't have to explain to me that your political views can't be pigeonholed into four categories. I already know that. I'm just interested in getting some idea of your political views. Please take the test, and then tell me in which of the four categories you fall into. I will give you my category in about two hours. Have fun, and thanks for your participation.

I was economic right 8.5, social libertarian -1.95. Now, you don't suppose there is any political bias in either the question/answer combinations, or the placement of the various political figures--do you? Let's see, how bad can we make Bush look? Place him next to Pinochet! Perfect! (Can you really justify Bush being so far from Thatcher? Bush is less authoritarian than any liberal American politician today--it's just that they are authoritarian on the PC side.) Noam Chomski, on the other hand, resides in Gandhi's neighborhood. What a good guy. It is an entertaining exercise, but nothing more--certainly not serious, unbiased analysis.

Libertarian Left though some questions did not allow for an answer that was close to my position!
For instance, it asked this:
Those who are able to work, and refuse the opportunity, should not expect society's support.
I would agree with that to a point. Someone who has a doctorate and is out of work is better off looking for work than trying to make ends meet working at Walmart and not being able to get a job that will fulfill his needs!
A job doesn't mean much when you starve to death on the pay and your employer pockets all the stash!

Your political compass: monetary Left/proper: 2.38 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.05 i'm very on the point of center, very particularly up and to the left. F: 40-one yet easily i imagine lots of the questions truly sucked, and none of them gave you a "50/50 or no longer positive" decision.
