I think Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have done the best with their wins...although Clay Aitken (sp) isn't doing so bad either for a runner up....

It definitely has to be William Hung...this guy is my hero...he can't sing for beans , but he made the most of his few minutes auditioning on American Idol.
He's made more money than all of the other idol contestants put together (with the exception of maybe Kelly Clarkson). He gets paid ridiculous amounts of money to make appearances and sing like crap. He was a complete nobody with no talent and he made himself into a celebrity. He probably even used his fame to help himself get laid a few times.
William Hung gets my vote, most successful for sure!
Where's Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken and Justin whatshisname?

Kellie Clarkson was first and most successful. Carrie underwood is doing great too. Alot of the rest havent done diddly squat.

Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson have both had good CD's, and both several hit songs off those albums, so it's hard to say. Personally, I like Carrie better.
