I am a graduate student and I work part time as a tutor. I feel like all my money goes toward my car note and car insurance. After buying gas and food, I really don't have any money left for anything. You know like hanging out or going shopping for clothes. I want to know what are some great tips for saving money?

NUMBER 1 - SAVE,SAVE, SAVE
You need to determine each week how much of your money is going to be saved and then make sure you do that each week. Just pretend you just don't have that money to spend. 5-10%
In the beginning it is not where you put it but JUST GET STARTED.
It is a good thing you are thinking like this so young and only working part-time. (not a lot of extra money to save)
When you get a full time job the best place to start is in one of those 401K. talk to people and you will find out why.

Not sure how you think you are going to save money when it sounds like you barely make enough to pay for the basic costs of living.
However, maybe starting small would help you. Put even just $25 a week into a savings account or RRSP. When you hit $500 you can turn it into a better interest earning investment. Once you accomplish something small and feel the personal reward from it I bet you will feel more encouraged to continue and start contributing more towards your savings.

You said you dont have any money left over after paying for what you need. So you have no money to even save.
But what I do is I have two bank accounts. One of my bank accounts is direct deposit and I gave my ATM card to my mom, so I cant spend from that account. I just survive off my other account while the other account is growing every two weeks.
