i am a young asian guy in his mid 18s. i would like to noe suggestions on improving my wardrobe. the advice that i need is what colors goes good with what and how to improve my stle without going all out on the big bucks

A wardrobe for you should consist of;
Jeans- I would advise to have a few different pairs; a few dark denim, a few distressed. No giantly baggy jeans, and no too tight. Fitted slim legs. No black or white jeans. Please consider Express (Apprx. 40 bucks a pair)
Polos- Classic look. Great for layering. Generally any color looks fine with jeans. Consider Abercrombie and Fitch (40 bucks) or pricier Lacoste/Ralph Lauren
Button Downs- Everyone always believes that button down polos/oxfords are for the workplace. Vertical stripes will make you look taller. Stick to blues and greens with thin lines. Fitted. Consider Abercrombie and Fitch, jCrew, Ruehl 925 etc.
Blazer/Fitted Sports Coat- Nothing personally is more instyle than a fitted velour jacket over a button up top. Check out Macys.
Sweaters- Great for over button downs. Check out Banana Republic Abercrombie and Fitch and jCrew
Shoes- Every man must have a few different types of shoes. Athletic shoes. Casual shoes- (could be slip on clogs, tied dress type shoes). Flip Flops. Dress shoes.

The tick to a wardrobe, if you are bying more stuff is to have things that you can mix and match. Depending on your style and skin color you should and shouldnt wear such colors. As far as colors go, get things that look good with your skin. You are trying to make your self stand out, not your clothes. So normally this means no neon colors.

Try to keep it to were you can dress up and dress down depending on what you are up to. Everyone needs a white button up shirt and a pair of nice slacks.
When in doubt wear pinstipes! Classic outlasts everything that is trendy.

well you gotta really shop alot to know how to save on big bucks while looking for good stylish clothes. importantly you need to wear clothes that totaly fits on you, it should not be too big or too small. Buy T-shirts w/ interesting logos on them, get a hoddie on top of your t-shirt, preferably colour gray or white or black. where wear jeans that are not baggy, preferably tight jeans, and converse shoes. if your want to maximize your style, but stylish watches like the once from Guess and a necklace
