I let them go.
They left. They can come back.
I'm not chasing after anybody.

Let them clear their head but if it takes a long time for them to come back and talk it out. Then I get mad....That is like leaving someone hanging at a bad time. I would rather just sit and talk it out as soon as possible

It is clear that someone does not know the techniques of "fair fighting"., This implies finding a grain of truth in the others argument to validate them in some way. It also involves reminding the other how much you care about them.
The original question demands heads to cleat: walk away and try again. However, if tools are not present forr conflict resolution, it will persists. read on conflict resolution.

Depends on how serious the argument is. If something serious...don't let them walk away so upset. If arguing over something silly...maybe let them have their space and give both of you time to think about things.

Let them go and clear their head, but not to long, life is to short to argue, or be unhappy, If you care about them then tell them that.

Depends. If the person is easy to get along with and is able to resolve the matter that way, then go after him/her but if it someone who is aggressive or abusive when he/she is mad, let 'em go.
