I'm major in accounting right now, but I found out it is pretty boring. I thought it was interesting, but it is boring. Maybe the teacher or the motivation. Also, I found out that in order to get a job in accounting, you must have at least a Bachelor degree and some experience.
I want to change my major to web design, but I would waste more time and money because I have taken accounting and all pre-requisite courses. I think web design is interesting because I always wonder how they created an awesome websites. I don't know about the job prospect. I want your honest opinion, which one is easier to get a job; associate degree in accounting or associate degree in web design? Thank you.

I'll give it to you straight.

I think you'd have a really hard time getting and keeping a job in web design. It sounds like you'd be starting kind of from scratch ("I wonder how they create them...") and to be honest, anything in computers nowadays kind of requires some sort of aptitude coming in. I wouldn't trust any computer science jobs as a long-term career. The technology is advancing too quickly and to expect to still have the same type of job in 30 years.

Accounting is the steadiest field within business. Although I really can't say how much an Associate's would help you, I'm sure it would give you better odds than an Associate's in Web Design. Be warned though: without a BA and CPA, you may be stuck doing really boring work for somebody else, and if you think it's boring now, you'll probably hate your life later.

I'd be cautious about either one of the options.

I started off as pre-med, as I had some background in it, but moved to computers because I liked them.

Overall, I think I would never have done well in med, because I didn't have the discipline for it, I did, however, have a naturla interest in computers, and the switch was easy. I've never looked back, although I have integrated the two (doing medical software).

If you don't like accounting, and like web design, go for the web design.

I think web design, there isn't a lot of competition because the internet is ever growing and still in development. You don't even need to go with a big company for that, maybe start with a community access channel - that's what my friend is doing.

what do you like doing? if its math and repeating stuff and getting a job. then you would think accounting is easier. if you like computers, and building web pages with lot of programing, and not to many jobs. then you would think web design is easier. aether way you go i would get a Bachelor degree not an Associate.
