.....DON'T GO TO A PET SHOP!!!... ALOT of Pet Shops get their pets from breeders. Sounds nice don't it. But it's not. They are also called breeding farms because many put 4 and 5 dogs in a cage together or they may be all by themselves and these dogs don't get walked, played with, or any kind of interaction. They just sit in a cage, get bread, and give birth. Because so many people go to a Pet shop and pay the $300.00--$2,500.00 per dog these breeding farms pump out as many puppies as possible even if it kills the female dog. breeder farms will breed a dog every time she comes into heat so a dog can have more than 3 litters a year depending on how quick she get pregnant and how soon they take the puppies away. You shouldn't breed a dog more than one a year for a healthy dog and twice a year at the VERY most!!! Also alot of diseases can be passed between these dogs. So what I am telling you isn't just for the puppies you want to buy but also for the dogs that will never get to play with a human or run in a grassy yard because people want puppies and as long as we are willing to pay these high prices the breeding farms will continue to keep breeding dogs locked in cages till they die then just replace them with another. There is no way to stop the cycle untill people understand what they are doing by purchasing these Pet store puppies. If you must buy from a pet shop then atleast request info on their sources and do some research on the supplier and make sure they have not been reported for inhumane treatment or for bad conditions.
...You can get just as good puppy from ASPCA or your local shelter for $25.00. GIVE AN ANIMAL A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE!!! This is why i became a Vet Tech. Animals need people looking out for them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Find a nearby humane society. The ones here you pay anywhere from 60 to 95 (petsmart) dollars. They usually spay/neuter the pet if it is old enough and mainly all you have to worry about is getting its shots.

If you are looking for a "cheap" puppy..... I'm guessing you won't want to spend the money to "insure" it!!!!
The best puppies/dogs come from the pound or humane society! They usually come spayed or neutered, so they are "insured" not to reproduce!
JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY....... ARE YOU?

Your local SPCA have an enormous amount of pets that need good homes. Some are pure bred and some are adorable mutts. They have all their shots and are normally already neutered or spaded. Check your local pounds also but the SPCA is where I would strongly suggest you go.

Go to the local animal shelter. They always have a puppy up for adoption.
