No way, I'm majoring in Animal Science and I'm a future large-animal vet. I respect animals a lot because they're innocent, just like children.

I think I'm in the middle of those 2 choices. I also don't think that either opinion is completely right. The American Indians believed that it was the highest respect to both eat and utilize the entire carcass of an animal that was killed. The animal was thanked for providing for the people.

I can't speak for Islam but Christianity is not a religion that calls for any cruelty to animals. Most Christians are rather kind to most animals (although that does not mean they are vegetarians, or are opposed to hunting and fishing...but then that is more of western or even majority society....very few people are vegetarians in our culture). Christianity has very little to say about animals in any respect (good or bad). EDIT: Well the Christian religion is rooted in two principles as to the law....Love the Lord your God with all you heart, and treat your neighbor as you would wish to be treated. Our commandments and concepts of sin being either slights against God, or our fellow man. Animals are not important to our religion (that is not to say we hate or dislike animals....it is simply that our religion has nothing to say on the subject), and is therefore a matter of liberty to the Christian.

Some animals I respect, some I don't. Just like people. There are, incidentally, a lot of people who are just here for food. Take Pauly Shore for instance.

i love animals. we have 8 dogs and a cat. our house is full of mice that are kind of annoying. I wish some peta members would come and adopt them. I really love the tasty ones. I hear now that peta wants to take the part out of the Bible about Jesus feeding the hungry with the fishes. HMMMM I don't beleive in wanton waste! I will not kill anything I don't intend to eat. On occasion I have been known to put some poor injured creature out of it's misery.
You do know that plants are living things also don't you
