no she hadnt been kissed at all, that was the whole problem, but once she put her new high heeled invention on, guys were falling all over themselves trying to kiss her, made her legs look hot and classy..she tried to keep her invention a secret for as long as she could, but the other girls in town wanted to be hot too and stole her patent and made leather shoes out of it...there ya have it~~

No, I think if it was really a woman that did it was just tired of being so short all the time and wanted ot increase her hight, or she wanted shoes that were more elegant than regular shoes, for when she went out on special occasions.
Or.
If it was a guy that made them. He had a lot of tiem on his hands.. and he had a really short wife. And wanted her to be taller...

...as well as ideas like "natural birth". wait, ok, so your telling me i can get gassed to have my tooth pulled but i should forgo pain killers when pushing a ten pound human (or two) out of my body? yeh, definitely man's idea
