Yes, I wonder what would have happened if I had done things differently, but I could also "what if" myself to death. The best I can do is learn from the past and mistakes I may have made. I can feel fairly confident the path I am on is the right one as long as I stay true to my beliefs and do not shut out the opportunities to learn new things.

I believe that it is...but I'll always wonder about the road not taken. I think it's human nature. I wonder what my life might have been if I'd taken a different job, dated someone different. There were a few times I was at a crossroads & had to choose one path or the other. This path has led me to some incredible people & opportunities but I'll never know where the other path may have gone...but I believe in destiny. I think that if you're meant to meet someone or be somewhere or do something, then you will find your way to it. It may take longer, the path may be more bumpy or winding than it may have been on another path but they can still take you to the same destination. I think that if you follow your heart & go after your dreams, you can't go wrong!

Have a nice weekend! (I know I won't because I'm stuck at work!!!)

I think it is best to recognize the times when you have made a mistake and then learn from them to the point of being able to recognize when you are facing the possibility of another. There is no "wrong" path. Every path leads somewhere and you are a product of the choices and decisions you have made. In other words, if you had taken a different path or made a different decision, you would not be the "you" you are. I also believe that every person has a reason for being the person they are. We are all supposed to do and learn the things we do. There is always a reason for it later, even if it is just to be able to answer some else's question......

I don't know how to explain a "yes" or "no" answer here, but my answer is "yes". Maybe you're asking me to elaborate, but then, in elaboration I'd only be telling you the circumstances around when I took "The Road Not Taken" as Robert Frost's famous poem is entitled, and to what benefit would that be? Maybe it's best left in his words,

"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

I think the only difference between me and Robert Frost's wonderful poem, which I first recited in my Senior highschool English class back in . . . well, "way back when", is that I didn't take the road less traveled by, or, the better one, and I wish I had. Just regrets from a middle-aged man. God Bless you.

I have wondered that at times. I have stepped off my path at certain times in my life and luckily God has set me straight back on the correct one.
I believe that some nature/nurture things have stepped in the way and I chose the wrong path...immaturity!
As I have matured I realize this is exactly the right path for me...even tho I have dreamed of becoming a great stand-up comic/a writer/ maybe even a saint/ or a famous trumpet player in an important orchestra. Somehow I still end up on this path -- right or wrong so God in his infinite wisdom has me on the correct path. Who am I to question?

Not really . Life is about making choices. Within the selected path, there will be decisions to be taken. Somehow, I dont believe in this right or wrong path of life but I do believe in right/wrong actions in daily life. And I do wonder if my actions were right (as per my beliefs, my philosophy) or not .That is like a never-ending process for me & I guess it keeps me on the track. Even if I am ever off the track I take it more as a lesson & not as a mistake to be sorry about.
As long as their is growth & development in the thought process, attitude & behavior.........life is going right . So, as of now, I need not worry :)

We only have one lifetime, so its natural to keep wondering if we have chosen the right path in our lives. Regret will be natural.

The thing is that we have to realise when we are in a situation that is preventing us from becoming what we want to be or what we want to do in life.

I was in a job for almost 10 years that i felt miserable in and that would not let me have time off to go to university. I thought that if i quit my job i would lose my long service leave and would not be able to get another good job like it. My god was i wrong!

When i handed in my resignation - and i spent the following day just sitting at a bar - i felt like the whole world was lifted from my shoulders - and i really regretted not quitting work 5 years earlier and doing what I wanted to do.

Dont have regrets. Quit doing everything negative in your life now. Time is not on your side. Every second that passes is a second that you could be doing something that makes you happy.

Its your life, its your time! You wont ever get it back. Act now!

I wonder about it all the time, just out of curiosity, but I never let it get to me. If I had not taken the path I have (right or wrong), if the events of my life had not happened exactly the way they have, I would not be who I am at this moment. As long as I'm happy with that, then there's no problem.

Though my path chose me more than i chose it. I still look in awe at the responsibility that lies ahead of me each and single day. I ask myself many times a day; what if someone else had my responsibility ? Would that bring me happiness. I always have to answer NO. I accept my path and i accept the responsibility. It is a great honor to be able to do what i do and i would not do anything to change that. I just look for new ways every day to do a better job than the job i did yesterday.

I don't know how to define the "right" path. But, if you could go back and change things with what you know now, then things in the future change as well. Your mom may get cancer because she was out in the sun 2 seconds longer because she was waiting on you while you were inside doing things differently.
