i can bet you will be successful.. convicts are among the easiest cichlids to breed.. a male and female and the right water conditions are about all you need. 240 gallons is huge!! im sure they will find a nice spot...to help it along..if you have a clay pot to place in the tank..they love little places like that. i have had convicts breed at barely over an inch long.

Most likely so provided the tank isn't crowded and they have a little room. The biggest problem might come from the cats, especially if any of them are even a little bigger than the convicts. Many catfish are scavengers and would fight to ge at the eggs.

Yea you can. it would be nice if you had a divider in your tank. To sep. all other types of fish and give nice pots for breeding purposes. Or eggs will become welcome in-between snack. and Also a battle will start between convicts and any other fish cons are excellent parents.

Sure you probably would not be able to stop them if you tried. Just be careful they do not annihalate the others in the tank when they do.
