Oh yes!! Pregnancy massage is a wonderful thing. I remember having something like this when I was pregnant. Only when I would sleep on my left side that thigh would go numb. I loved my body pillow too. It helped so much. Congrats to you! I hope that everything goes well for you.

Try sleeping with a supportive pillow between your legs, at the knees. Or, use a body pillow that will also supprt your growing belly. What you could be experiencing with your calves are leg cramps known as 'charlie horses'. Pregnant women are prone to getting them in the middle of the night! Up your body's potassium level by eating more bananas, and one shortly before nighty-night! Definately do the pillow thing though. As far as your skin being red, you could try some Aveeno Calming lotion. They sell that over the counter. Don't know if the redness is related to sleeping on your side or not. I'm a side sleeper, and do not get patchy red skin from it. Good luck to you!

Try laying on your back on the sofa with your feet up on the armrest. Used to be one of my favorite sleeping positions. There are other ways to sleep, as long as you can breath. You can lay almost on you back with a pillow behind you and another pillow under one leg. You sleep however you can. It sounds more to me like it might be your mattress. Perhaps it is too soft and you are sinking in too far. If so, you could lift up the mattress and put and older flat pillow under it to help balance out your body. I was having back pains, and not being in the situation to go out and buy a new mattress at the moment i leveled mine out using an old pillow. Worked great for me.

You an pretty much get a massage any way you want one. It's your money, you tell them how you want it done. But be open to their suggestions also they might have some tricks in their bag you haven't thought of.

I asked my Dr if it was ok to sleep on my back on an inclined pillow. She said yes, just as long as I could breath. It was a wonderful feeling! My hips were hurting so much since I slept on my side all the time. But once I laid on that pillow, it was heavenly!

And yes, pregnancy massage is allowed too. I never had it done, but I heard it was wonderful!

Congrats and good luck!

Yes yes, massage is wonderful while you're pregnant and they say its very good for you if done right. Call your local spa and ask for a "pregnancy massage". It should be done laying on your side, propped with lots of pillows. My legs felt the same way and I used those mircobead squishy pillows in bed. I also had quite a few massages and loved them. Make sure you drink lots of water before and after massage (especially after)

Ask you OB to recommend a massage therapist that can work on pregnant women. Some areas shouldn't be massaged because it could trigger contractions. i know one is wonderful in during pregnancy. Ive found a really good lotion helps the red places on my skin, i prefer the olay quench . you can also try a body pillow. i have one that i hug and it goes down between my legs and it helps me too. and if all else fails try to sleep in the recliner. I'm almost 7month pregnant now and i know how you feel! good luck and congrats

Massages are safe as long as the don't stimulate your body too much. You can ask your doctor he might be able to help and tell you which are safe. There are also places that do offer massages specifically for pregnant women. Maybe try pillows bellow you. Hope you feel better soon.

You could always buy one of those special pillows that allows you to sleep on your stomach then you would not be on your sides all the time.
