Can I access the internet if I disconnect my laptop?

Our internet came with this little box that has numbers and stuff that blink in yellow and I thought that was so we could move the computer from room to room while using the internet. Do I just unplug the stuff in the back or what? We have the internet through our cable servicer. Oh, iti's a Dell Inspiron. Sorry, to sound like such an idiot! I wanted to watch a show that's on the internet in bed but I'd have to disconnect it, HELP! And THANKS!

if ypur computer has a wireless LAN card and the router is a wireless router is then you can.
