have you ever owned Huskies? Siberians are HIGH MAINTENANCE. are you a lazy couch potato? Do you have a fenced yard? do you garden? DO you have time for 1 highly active dog let alone 2? Do you have small animals? Do you mind hair everywhere?
These are things you need to ask yourself before you buy 1 huskie, not mentioning 2. Siberians to stay mentally and physically healthy need a daily regiem of exercise, exercise, and more exercise. They get neurotic if left outside on the end of a chain all day. They need a large fenced yard. You have to not care they dig, digging is in these dogs blood. There natural instinct is to dig. Dig for food, entertainment, bordom, and they dig in the snow and lay down for warmth. You normally can not break a husky from digging. Huskies tend to have a high prey drive for small animals like cats and rodents. You have to socialize and deal with this early on in puppyhood. Some never come out of it. House Huskies will shed, ALOT everwhere. They constantly blow that under coat. One thing a husky is known for is that coat. They have to have a healthy coat in cold weather so they are constantly replacing hair to keep there coat healthy. If you live in a warm weather place this will double. Bored huskies will howl and bark execisively so if you live in a highly populated area they dont make good lawn ornaments.
If you fit the Husky lifestyle. Then go for it... if you are not interested in showing and sledding, then give some rescue Siberians a good home.

By people saying no you shouldn't it doesn't mean you are really going to listen.
Here's some things you need to know about them though---I've owned 7
They are pretty active dogs and like exercise so you should have quite a bit of room for them to play. If you live in an apartment of walk up I would suggest getting a different breed that is more laid back and a little bit quieter. Husky's love to howl.
If you are going to be keeping in a yard I suggest using a tie down. Husky's can basically climb any fence and love doing so.
If you have cats or any rodent type animal- do an introduction and never leave your dogs unattended with them.
Most important- start off with one. See how you like having one of them before you make to big of a commitment and get 2. I'd hate for someone to get stuck with 2 unwanted dogs and never give them the care they need.

What do I think...I think they are beautiful dogs and very loyal. What else do I think...I think you should save your money and get a nice mixed breed from your local Humane Society. Muts are MUCH better companions than pure bred dogs and there are lots out there that need homes. If money is not an issue then get your huskies but also make a donation to the Humane Society. Hey you asked what I think. I don't work for the Humane Society but only because I am a single mother with 2 jobs and I don't have time and I don't have money to give or I would.
And people...PLEASE SPAY OR NEUTER YOUR PETS!
I am not trying to mock Bob Barker but there are sweet animals out there being killed and living in cages because so many people do not do their part to control the pet population.

Yes they are beautiful, yes they are adorable.
A lot of owning a husky depends on your family situation and how much time you have for them.
I have a 3 yo female husky. She sheds like you wouldn't believe in spring (we take her to the groomer to get her buzz cut).
The most important thing you need to think about is the aggression. Huskies tend to be very very protective over their food and toys, which translates into a dog that isn't generally great with small kids (not all but most) even if you raise them in a loving home from a puppy.
A lot of huskies tend to need a lot of exercise, however, mine would rather lay in the shade or on the snow all day than either lift a foot!!!!
Danielle is right about the boundary thing, because our husky will leave anytime she can, and loves to dig out. However when we are camping she comes when we call. In town we don't leave her outside alone too long.
If you would like more info, please feel free to email me.

Do you have room to let them run? If you are in the city, I would definately argue against it unless you run 5-6 miles every day rain or shine, or have a huge backyard your dogs can stay in all day.
Huskies require ALOT of room. They are bred to run, and that is what they do. They also do not understand the concept of boundaries very well. We have 40 acres, and we still couldn't keep them on our land. They always came home, but people would report seeing our huskies about 10-15 miles down the road.
If you do not let them run, they will find some other way to vent their energy, including chewing or wearing pacing runs in your house/yard.
They are loyal, and usually pretty protective, but have a more independent attitude you do not see in other dogs. If you call them, a Husky will look and decide whether they want to come or not. Most dogs come automatically.
They also do not do that well as indoor dogs. You would need to shave them every winter. None of ours could come in the house in winter. If it was -45 with windchill, they were still happy (and very comfortable) outside in a dog house.
As for killing....one jumped on my rabbit who got loose to play with it- and paralyzed it. Did not kill it intentionally though. Another one of ours killed a raccoon as big as she was at 6 months old.

I love Huskies. If you get them, though, try finding a Humane Society that is adopting them out. They will still be mostly Husky, look like a Husky, be a LOT cheaper, and you'll be giving a warm home to a shelter pet.

well, it depends, 2 males? BAD IDEA-2 females? MAYBE BETTER--
MY FRIENDS HAD 2 MALE HUSKIES THAT THEY RAISED TOGETHER FROM PUPPIES EVEN THOUGH THEIR VET AND THE BREEDER ADVISED THEM NOT TO RAISE 2 MALES-AND THEY EVENTUALLY HAD TO GET RID OF BOTH OF THEM. HUSKIES ARE MORE "PACK PRONE" THAN OTHER BREEDS (THAT'S WHY THE MAKE EXCELLENT SLED DOGS) AND THEIR 2 MALES BONDED TOGETHER AND RAN ALL OVER THE NEIGHBORHOOD ATTACKING OTHER ANIMALS-THEY BONDED MORE WITH EACH OTHER THAN THEIR OWNERS-WHICH IS WHAT THEY DO, ESPECIALLY 2 MALES-I WOULD CHECK IT OUT FIRST WITH A REPUTABLE DOG TRAINER/BREEDER.

they are awsome dogs but they love the cold so it depend on where you live you have to keep them in cool weather all the times, i don't recommend it if you live in a warm climate like down south or out west
