My daughter is due in 4 weeks, and I live in Tx so its already hot. Most of the clothe for the first 3 months are a light long sleeve shirt and pants. I have a few summer outfits for that time, onsies, and sleepers. So with her being a newborn, and it being high 60s and 70s do I need to dress her summery or are the pant sets ok?

I had two in late march and early April.
I liked having the pants and I had to get a sweat shirt or two for night times when we sat on the deck with us. (Some people call them hoodies)

Even in Tx spring can fool you.

Congrats on the spring baby it is a nice time to have a newborn. (the winter one was harder to figure out how warm to dress him)

hi there

Dressing Your Newborn And Baby's New Home Environment

Dressing Baby

For the first week or so after birth, babies can't regulate their own body temperature to adapt to heat or cold as well as adults can, so it is important not to over- or under-dress them. Dress the baby warmly but not so that he is hot.

During cooler weather, baby's feet should be kept warm. Also, dress your baby in several layers of light clothing rather than a single heavy layer. Several light layers hold in warmth better than a single heavy layer, and they can easily be removed as necessary. When going out, it's a good idea to bring along an extra layer or two in case your baby needs them.

Hats and caps are also an important part of a baby's wardrobe. During cooler weather, a hat can prevent baby from losing heat through his bare head. In warm weather, a cap protects baby's delicate skin on the head and face from sun exposure.

If your baby is under- or over-dressed, she may fuss or cry. If she is sweaty, she's probably overdressed.

Home Environment

Keep the home warm, but not hot or cold. During winter, don't place a heavy blanket in your baby's bed for added warmth, because heavy bedding poses the risk of suffocation.

Instead, turn up the room's thermostat to a more comfortable temperature. The baby's room should always be kept between 68 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit,or 20-22 degrees Celsius, with humidity at around 40%. During hot summer weather, an air conditioner may be used to keep the room at this temperature if necessary.

hi again always protect the baby from the sun so he/she later on in life he/she will not get any type of skin damage. and knowing tx for it's hot climate ALWAYS carring water . also beware of those fierce mosquitos.

For the first two months or so, a t-shirt or a onesie will do just fine. You'll want to carry layers with you when you go out because of air conditioning (my son would be fussy from the cold in the summer time, so we carried pants and a long-sleeved shirt at all times), but if you're at home don't stress out about it. Tshirts and onesies are sold year-round.

my daughter was born in the hot month of summer, summery clothes are fine. unless u keep ur air on really cold then mayeb just footed jammies. just remember u cant put sunblock on him or her till 6 months i do believe so try to keep her skin coverd and outa the sun, so if ur gonna be outdoors alot then very thin long sleeves and pants. remember if ur hot the babies hot, give or take a few degrees seeing as there not as active as u or me. my daughter was a swet monster and still is so she was always hot like i am, so u will know just listen to her ques

The best way to know how to dress your baby appropriately is to look at what you are wearing, and dress the baby in the equivalent, and add one extra layer. So if its 40C and you are wearing a tank top and shorts, put a light top on bub, and cover with a light blanket. I would see so many Mum's on hot days wearing a light summer dress, and then the poor kids are dressed up in a jumpsuit with a singlet and heavy blanket!

Another way to tell if bub is to hot or to cool, is to slip you hand down the back of their neck, it does not disturb them if the are sleeping, and it gives you a good idea of their temperature, if the are to hot or to cold.

I had this concern with the two considered one of my babies. i could say do basically no longer subject approximately it. i could purchase clothing too enormous formerly i could purchase those premie clothing. The 0-3 she will advance in to, however the premie clothing would be ineffective. i offered an excellent sort of premie clothing and 0-3 clothing that my infant in no way have been given to positioned on them. they seem to be a waste of money. maximum new dad and mom over purchase pointless issues for his or her new infant. you won't be in a position to take babies out lots, so all they choose is onsies, 0-3 sleepers, and a stunning image outfit. stay and learn and then get LUVS! lol yet seroius, Luvs are super!

The pants sets should be fine, you are going to need to protect her from the sun anyway with her newborn skin. Beware, you never know what sizes she will wear till she gets here...trust me. I wish I had waited till my son was born to get the majority of outfits. Turned out he was big and didn't fit in much newborn stuff (including diapers)

I would definatly stick with the pants cause the wind is prolly a little gussy there so still try to protect him.her.. even form the sun.. the cloths you have will be fine.. most of the time baby's are inside anyways.. Just remember.. IF YOU ARE HOT CHANCES ARE YOUR BABY IS TO IF YOU ARE COLD THE BABY PROLLY IS ALSO!!.. they adapt to you and your environment

I think you will do okay with the clothes you have. Because babies need to be warmer than us. And eventually when she keeps growing you will sense what makes her comfortable. She will let you know. Don't go bananas buying clothes(I know is so tempting) But babies grow so fast , the clothes don't last long. The first months buy stuff at target and walmart that isn't that expensive but still looks nice.

I've always been told to dress your baby how YOU would be comfy. So if you are wearing summer outfits comfortably she should be fine too. Although you may want to keep a light blanket around, just in case she gets chilled.
