im a little confused with some of the new verbs ive learnt. the meanings sound the same to me so im not sure when to use which one.
the verbs are:
-partir
-rentrer
-venir
-revenir
-rester

it would be very helpful if someone could give me the exact meanings(like how they are used in english or something) and context within which to use each of these verbs. thanks!

Let's go:

-partir= to leave for, to leave (je partirai demain pour Paris - I will leave tomorrow for Paris)
-rentrer=to come back (je rentrerai a la maison a sept heures - I'll come back home at 7:00)
-venir=to come (Viens ici - Come here)
-revenir=to come back (je reviendrai la prochaine semaine - I will come back next week)
-rester= to stay (je veux rester ici, je suis fatigue - I want to stay here, I am tired)

revenir and rentrer are pretty much exchangeable

Sorry for any mispelling in French, I am typing fast but I hope this helps!

Cheers,

Partir means "to leave". Rester means "to stay". Venir means "to come". Rentrer and revenir both basically mean "to come back", though you could really say that rentrer means "to reenter".

Good luck! ^_^

partir = to leave, depart, "go away"

rentrer = to enter, "go in"

venir = to come, "go somewhere"

revenir = to come back, "go back to (a place)"

rester = to stay, "don't go nowhere"
