We went through this with our son. We kept in contact with his teachers on a daily basis. It really drove him nuts. He has now taken it upon himself to do the work.

You might check with his counselor at school they usually have an extra class for the study hall during one of the electives. They will help he/she to get on track. Homework is no fun. Maybe if you try to get him to complete as much of the work in class he/she won't have so much.

Kids go through this unfortunately they drive their own education. The best advice is to stay on top of them and do the homework with them until they realize how important it is. If they care about the grades they will get a few bad ones hopefully this will change their attitude. Good Luck

You might ask if there is a study group after school a few days a week that he/she could attend. Ask the teachers if they have study groups in their class during lunch.

i hope not, as a teenager i also refused to do homework and am now a practising lawyer.I always looked upon homework as being unfair, i studied hard in school and partied hard out of school,if the course is too difficult to learn in school time then it is too difficult period. i was just lucky enough to be immensly intelligent.
