apathy, there is a thin line between love and hate. With hate you have some emotion towards that person, strong emotions.

Apathy would be contrary to sympathy or affection, but on the other hand there are people that love to hate - both involve passion.
So I would say loathing is the opposite of loving.

Apathy is having no feeling and emotion or loss of activity and undertaking in direction of somebody or something. additionally love used in this context is a verb so the choice could be a verb. The be conscious despise would be a extra acceptable decision for the choice of affection.

hate is the answer to your question... there for hate is the very opposite of love because hate is what plaques the mind and causes anger and bitterness... so hate is the real true opposite of love my friend...
