I have been asked directly if I am a writer and if so what books I have written. So far, not one person who supposedly was interested enough to post this question has bought any of my books. Why bother to ask if you don't intend to pursue the quest for new literature? I suppose it's just a vaccuous attempt at identifying one's self with the writerly crowd. Diletants are spreading apathy as usual? I am not impressed with this scurvy behavior ; as you can probably gather.

Perhaps people put the book on a list to purchase later - not everyone goes out and buys a book right away just because the author has recommended it.

Or perhaps the people who read the post were not interested in the description of the work. Again, they do not have to purchase a book just because the title is given to them.

Either way, you're not promoting it very well by griping about it in the very place you were attempting to promote it.

If you suggest your book on here or any other website community the most you can hope for is that someone finds it interesting enough to take a look and hopefully buy it. Just because they express an interest does not obligate someone to buy your book.

I can understand your frustration, but this probably isn't the best way to express it.

I have bought books that have been recommended on this site. I have not been disappointed yet.
