I'm afraid to sleep under a ceiling fan. Isn't there a danger it could fly off and hurt you? This must happen often.

If it happened often, no one would use ceiling fans. Unless it's a really old fan that's like 100 years old and falling apart I wouldn't worry about it.

My grandson was afraid of ours. But now, we're having our living room remodelled, and the contractor took ours down. It took him a good 5 minutes of using a power tool to ream it loose. That baby was up there solid!

I betcha the odds of a ceiling fan falling are 1 in a million. I don't know, really, what the odds are, but I never heard of it happening. I do know that it's far more comfortable to sleep with the ceiling fan running. It circulates the air.

No. Never heard of such an incident anywhere, anytime. I think if this is what occupies your mind you should get a hobby or read a book or just not sleep in a room with a ceiling fan.

I would be afraid to let birds fly around the house and possibly fly into one. It never occurred to me that the revolving mechanism could detach itself and fly onto me. Mechanical things are not something I have any insight into at all. Next time I find myself under one, I might be faster to turn the thing off and sleep in peace without it. Thanks!
