Keep the formula regular. you can start feeding the baby cereal but i wouldn't start the bananas just quite yet. Still a little to young for the bananas.

I read somewhere that a good rule of thumb is 2.5 ounces of formula for every pound that the baby weighs. So, a 10-pound baby should eat about 25 ounces every day.

I'm not a big fan of keeping babies to precise measurements. If my son is hungry, I'll feed him. He usually knows when he's had enough, and he'll make sure that I can't put the bottle back in his mouth. I also believe that babies are somewhat like adults. They may have days when they're either really hungry or not hungry at all.

Also, don't forget about the days when the baby is going through a growth spurt. You'll feel like you're just making one bottle after another, but the baby's growing body needs the nutrients.

My baby also just turned 3 months. She's eating 5oz 6 times each day, and she's about 13.5 lbs. I think its still too early for cereal. Most pediatricians say 4-6 months and the closer to 6 months the better. It's because their intestinal tract is still not ready to handle solids. And a tip on bananas, babies love them but you'll want to give them sparingly because they cause constipation (I know from experience with my son).

Give her as much as she wants. I dont believe in limiting a baby. In the first year of life your baby will grow faster than she will ever grow again. She needs fuel for this amazing task. I personally think it may be too early for solids but MAYBE cereal. Very thin. Chances are, she wont be able to eat it properly this young anyway. Bananas, i wouldnt go there just yet. be patient, she's gonna grow to be a healthy young lady, let her eat!!!!

No solid food should be given to infants until they are 6 months of age. Ask your pediatrician for advice on this. Also, you should be able to tell when your baby is full. She will turn away from the bottle or will slow down her eating. She should be close to a full bottle at each feeding. Do not introduce solids yet. She could develop allergies to the food.

i give my 3 month old 5 ounces every 4 hours. but i think that's a little on the light side, he is only 10 lbs. what a lot of babies are when they are born. he was premature. but let me tell you, that boy can eat! sometimes he is starving and i end up feeding him more like 10 ounces every 4 hours (because he sleeps like 6 hours at night, but when he wakes up he acts like he's dying from lack of food and only 5 ounces doesn't cut it), but that makes up for the feeding that he misses in the middle of the night because he slept through it. so all in all he gets like 20 ounces a day. but like i said he is on the small side.

this poster at his doctor said start on cereal after they eat more than 36 ounces of formula a day. so if she is eating more than that go ahead. but just to be safe, tell your doctor and see what she says. if that is the case, i don't see why it would be a problem.

My son was eating 4-5 ounces at that age, he downed it so quick that he threw it up. But If your baby downs what she normally eats you can give her another ounce. My son started cereal at 3 months but didnt have bananas until 5 months.

okay, i have been watching my niece since she was 3 months. Now she is almost 5 months. Since i have been there we have been giving her bottle at 8am rice cereal and pears at 9 bottle at 11, 1:30,4 and then i go home but then at night she gets oatmeal and a veggie. We also tried a lot of the organic stage 1 baby food. She loves it and the doctor said she is doing great.

just give her what she wants, she knows when to stop. Cereal i would definatly wait till 4 months like reccomended by pediatricians, make sure to ask before too, also make sure u try cereals first one at a time for a coupl days to make sure theres no alergic reactions, same things with the baby food which shouldnt be started till later, also they say to do veggies first. i woudl definatly call ur dr, it never hurts to ask first. also there are alota baby sites u can read off of on this like www.babycenter.com, www.babyzone.com, or even www.gerber.com

depending on his size he should be taking aprox 27-31 oz of formula in a day 4-5 oz each feeding is the average
ceral is fine in limited quanties
I was advised by my sons dr to add 2 table spoons of ceral in his bottle to thicken it up due to reflux at 10 weeks
but dont do to much the baby will know when it is full
