If the pipes are 100+ years old, it's possible they have lead or other dangerous chemicals in them. I wouls not drink it even if it goes through a filter, as some of these chemicals can still pass through the filter. you should have a sample checked for safety.

U need to replace the pipes with plastic pipes.
