Damn, this is getting interesting. Who should I vote for? I know who is not going to get my vote for sure.

So before I cast my vote, let me add my comment. No, this is not a propaganda, and neither ragzeus or solun have something with the question. I read their answers to other questions, and noticed there is a bit of war between them. When I asked the question, I was aware that the answer one or other way would be Alexandar the Great. What I wanted to read, was an explanation, why he is the greatest, and not someone else. I must agree with the user rebekatristan that this is not a place for threatening or insults, but we had few answers just like that.
But, isn't it a propaganda that the macedonians got thumbs down, and greeks got thumbs up? I was willing to let this question go on vote, but it is absolutely clear that the greek propaganda will crash the chances of objective voting. So this is my honest vote. Belive it or not!

There is only one Macedonia, and it's name is Republic of Macedonia. And about the asker's question, there are many big Macedonians: Car Samuil, Goce Delcev, Karpos, Gjorgija Kastriot, and many others. Offcourse, only such a great nation can have such heroes. But the greatest in the history, not only Macedonian history, but also the world's history, one and only Aleksandar the Macedonian, the one that enslaved Greece and conquered the whole known world. It makes me proud to say I'm Macedonian.

If you mean the Authentic Greek Kingdom of Macedonia with history of few thousand years then who else than Alexander the Great!!

If you refer to the Slavic Macedonia, it only has history of a few decades as an independent country or about a century from the time of its conception. In this case I would have to choose amongst one of its prime ministers or presidents.. It would be perhaps Branko Crvenkovski or Nikola Gruevski.

Those of you who link the Authentic Macedonia to the Slavic Macedonia should go out and learn some history before you post again.

If your question is not a propaganda question let the community decide for the best answer and do not (say) vote the guy with the most thumbs down again. (solun?)

The Macedonia or part of the Ancient Greek has produced some of the greatest people in the world in different fields, however, Alexender the Great seems to be the greatest of them all.

Dude all you have is Goce Delchev and Pito Guli. No one really worth mentioning some rag top guerrilla fighters againts the ottomans.

Alexander the Great was Illyrian which makes him Albanian by default. At that time there was no Albanian written language and the Illyrians were mountain warrior men he had to use the only written language afforded to him for that region which was Greek(Greek at that time was as English is today) thus the mass confusion today about his identity. Your people are vultures that are quarreling among one another and know he absolutely belong to neither of you.

Aleksandar III Makedonski - the son of Philip II Makedonski.
btw,
{ (Try to say to an Albanian that Skandeberg is not Albanian!!! Try to say to a Bulgarian that Samuel is not Bulgarian!!!! Try to say to a Greek that Alexander is not authentic Macedonian of Greece and you will find yourself in trouble!!!) }.
What makes you think that you're not allready in trouble, denying the existence of whole nation. You are saying I'm not Macedonian, I will never say you're not greek, or even Martian if you feel like that!
I will not report you for threatening, just the world to see how wrong you are.
