Which is bigger.It can be equal its another option. 2 3/4 x 4 or 3 1/4+8.5.

2 3/4 x 4 = 11/4*4 = 11

3 1/4+8.5 = 3.25 + 8.5 = 11.75

therefore, (3 1/4+8.5) is bigger

2 3/4 = 2+.75=2.75

3 1/4 = 3+.25 =3.25

so then just use you calculator to multiply it out..

2.75*4=11

3.25+8.5 = 11.75

second one is larger
