You need a license for everything in this country, after all, the government has to get those taxes you know. I saw a bumper sticker once and I want one, It says, "Don't steal, the government hates competition," I love it.

To open a salon, the owner of the business does not have to have a license as long as that person does not practice or perform any services that require a license.
You must hire a manager though to run the shop for you. You might pay this person 5%-10% to do this for you.
You will need a city license. however, to operate any business in any city.
This applies to California and Georgia, I am sure the same applies in just about any state as long as the manager, not owner, has a license.

If you have your cosmetology license, that information should have been covered in class. If you are so new to the business world, you would be smart to work for awhile and learn about buying supplies, how to get a customer basis, and getting financing. All you have to do is call your State Business Licensing Bureau to get information. You will also need a Federal Business Tax Number, know how to file Social security Taxes and any and all State taxes. There will also be a lot of different insurances needed. Strongly suggest you work in the field for a couple of years. Been there, done that. Best wishes.

YES of course. You need a license to practice and a business license from the city. Check the state websites for business license, cosmotologist.

Uh yeah, if you open something that provides a service and make money ,we call it a business, and for the government to provide you services, they need taxes. And in order to get those taxes they have to know you own a business, and to know that they want you to have a license.

i dont know but most african american people just know how to do hair. i dont know how ya do it but you can do it.
