YES!!! I started when I was only 9 years old....it was horrible. Most of my friends didn't start theirs til they were around 12 or 13. I feel like I was a freak and then the pains I had and no one else had made it worse. I was never regular either. I would go 2 weeks to 3 months between periods. It made life a living hell for about 8-9 years. Finally when I turned 18 I went on birth control and it helped A LOT!! My mom didn't want me on birth control because she didn't want me having sex....so the doctor just kept prescribing prescription pain killers. They didn't help the cramps at all. I missed a lot of school growing up because of the cramps too. They would be so bad I would be in the fetal position with a heating pad for 2 days straight. I could hardly walk or move without crying. My period also lasted about 8-10 days, so it always felt that once I was done I was starting all over again. I had the world's worst mood swings too. Now that I'm on the pill I feel like a new woman. I gained a few pounds, but I don't care because I'm regular and the cramps are actually tolerable now. It's amazing. I still get moody but people can just deal with it. lol. And I only have my period for about 5 days now. Another plus for the pill is that it's helped with my pimples too. I never really had them before....only a few here and there. But now I hardly get them at all. Usually only like one or 2 the week before my period. I can't complain though. The pill is amazing....if your cramps are a living hell get on birth control. It has changed my life for the better. I wish my mom would've realized that pain killers did nothing for me and then let me go on the pill a long time ago. I highly recommend it.

It was at one point. As a great number of women have gone through, I had irregular periods. I would go 2 months without one and then start having one every other week. Not to mention it felt like a jagged-edged knife sliding back and forth in my abdomen. Thank God ppl had the sense to come up with birth control. Clockwork periods and less cramping, yay!

YES! It was really painful. I had a cyst on my ovary, and the medications I take messed up my cycle. I had real bad heavy days. But I am thankful of my period. Two days after my period I stopped, then started again. Had real bad pains and knew something was wrong. There was, I had the beginning stages of cancer of the uterice. So, that got taken and still have ovaries, but NO periods! :)

Yes, my periods caused me a lot of trouble when it came to the cramping and such because of endometriosis and some other medical problems so I now take the pill in such a way to stop me from having periods. It has been very helpful for me to do that because every time I've had to stop for a period for various reasons it was very painful.

Generally, yes, but you should see your ob/gyn and maybe they can perscribe you something. Or they can check and see why it is so bad. Doctors are the best way to go. Even if there is nothing you can do about it, you tried. Sometimes its just part of being a woman.

No - I never have any trouble with my period. Comes like clockwork, last 3-5 days. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Peace!
