I can help with the first one. Slope is simply put change in y divided by change in x. So simply use the formula:

m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)= (5-2)/(2-(-1)) = 3/3 = 1

What the heck for b:

m = (-6 - (-2)) / (5-3) = -4/2 = -2

Now for extra practice, determine the equation of the line for a and b.

use the formula for Delta Y/Delta X. In other words, m (the slope of the line) = Y2-Y1/X2-X1. For part A) m= 5-2/2-(-1)=3/3 or m=1.

B) m= - 6 -(-2)/5-3 =-4/2 = -2

Hope this makes sense

the slope for these two lines can be answered by completing the standard equation for slope. For example on a:

m or slope is = 2-5 over -1-2 or -3 over -3 which is 1

for b -2-(-6) over 3-5 or 4 over -2 or -2

a) slope = (5-2) / (2-(-1)) = 3 / 3 = 1

tanz = 1 = tan 45

the line makes 45 deg with +ve side of x axis

b) slope = (-6-(-2)) / (5-3) = -4 / 2 = -2

slope = (5-2)/(2-(-1))=3/3=1
slope = (-6-(-2))/(5-3)=-4/2=-2

First of all, remember the slope equation. (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
so for
a)(5-2)/(2--1)=3/3=1
b)(-6--2)/(5-3)=-4/2=-2

Hope that helped!
