could you help me with info on being a personal support worker in ontario, canada?

should i take the course, i know the work will be rewarding, but is the income decent (i have to be the bread winner in the family as my husband is going through very serious cancer treatment andis unable to go back to work for an indeffinate amount of time) could you use the course and experience to "up grade" to a ergistered practical nurse? any information that you could share would help out so very much....thank you for your time and help!

As a fellow Ontarian, you and I both know the health care system is going down hill. Many changes are happening and very quickly. Take the courses you need to take now and get an entry level position. Given a couple years, most of the 'veterans' will be retiring leaving you in the hot seat. Sadly, most health care positions in Ontario don't pay very well and getting to the positions that do pay well is like running for political office at work. My girlfriend is working in your soon to be field. We get by on her pay cheque but by no means would it be enough to live under your situation. I wish you all the luck in the world.

They are certainly not the most archaic laws, for that, short of a Middle Eastern country ruled by the Sharia law where liquor is outright illegal, you have to come to the US. In my town, you cannot buy liquor before 12 noon, not after 11 pm, can't buy it Sunday all day and you can only buy Beer and flavored wine, not even real wine. Yet, if you want drugs all you have to do is go to a certain house which everyone in town knows, the guy has been operating for years, the cops take a percentage of the proceeds and when someone complains he is "investigated" and no wrong is found. You want archaic laws and hypocrisy, you come to the good ol' USA.
